Hadith No -14- Kitaab-ul-Eeman  (کتاب الاایمان) Bukhaari Shareef (Ahaadees Mubaarkah)

 حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَن رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ وَالِدِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ " .

Narrated Abu Huraira: "Allah's Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is, none of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father and his children."

´ہم سے ابوالیمان نے حدیث بیان کی، ان کو شعیب نے، ان کو ابولزناد نے اعرج سے، انہوں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے نقل کی کہ` بیشک رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے۔ تم میں سے کوئی بھیg ایماندار نہ ہو گا جب تک میں اس کے والد اور اولاد سے بھی زیادہ اس کا محبوب نہ بن جاؤں۔

The Hadith means that it is obligatory for a Muslim to give priority to obedience to Allah and His Messenger over obedience to anyone else, whether offspring, parent or any person. It also explains the importance of following the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in all matters. (Part No. 3; Page No. 200) The Hadith indicates that Iman (faith) is not perfect except by achieving this.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.

This is why we should love the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
In this short piece, Sheikh Ibrahim Abdullah delves into the importance of loving the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad ﷺ. Loving the Messenger of Allah is, in fact, a reflection of one’s perfection of faith, as recorded in the authentic Hadith: Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind.” Sahih Al Bukhari
In a world where Muslims find themselves struggling to perform good deeds to the extent of the companions and the righteous predecessors, it is reassuring to know that by simply loving the Messenger of Allah, we can be guaranteed his closeness on the day of resurrection. Anas also narrates that:
A man once asked the Prophet ﷺ about the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, “When will the Hour be?” The Prophet ﷺ replied, “What have you prepared for it?” The man said, “Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Apostle.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “You will be with those whom you love.” We had never been so glad as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet (i.e., “You will be with those whom you love.”) Therefore, I love the Prophet, Abu Bakr and `Umar, and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for them though my deeds are not similar to theirs. Sahih Al Bukhari

This is why we should love the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

One of the strongest indications of one’s love for the Messenger of Allah is found in one’s obedience to the Messenger. As Imam Shafii would say:
لَوْ كانَ حُبُّكَ صَادِقاً لأَطَعْتَهُ, إنَّ الْمُحِبَّ لِمَنْ يُحِبُّ مُطِيعُ

If your love is sincere, you would have obeyed Him.

For verily the lover for the one he loves, obeys him.

By following in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ you will not only be proving your love for the Messenger but you will also attain the love of Allah, as mentioned in the Quran.
Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” Quran 3:31
May Allah make us sincere in our love for the Prophet ﷺ and make us of those who follow his footsteps.

Hadith No -13- Kitaab-ul-Eeman  (کتاب الاایمان) Bukhaari Shareef (Ahaadees Mubaarkah)

 حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَعَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّ لِأَخِيهِ مَا يُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ " .
Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "None of you will have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself."
´ہم سے حدیث بیان کی مسدد نے، ان کو یحییٰ نے، انہوں نے شعبہ سے نقل کیا، انہوں نے قتادہ سے، انہوں نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ خادم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے، انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کیا۔ اور شعبہ نے حسین معلم سے بھی روایت کیا، انہوں نے قتادہ سے، انہوں نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے، انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے نقل فرمایا کہ` نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا تم میں سے کوئی شخص ایماندار نہ ہو گا جب تک اپنے بھائی کے لیے وہ نہ چاہے جو اپنے نفس کے لیے چاہتا ہے۔

Commentary:
A question arises does this mean that if one does not prefer others over himself then he is not a Muslim? No, this is not what this hadeeth means. One will still be a believer, however, his emaan will not be at the level of perfection.
A Muslim does not have Double Standards
This hadeeth teaches us that a Muslim does not have double standards. He cannot choose something for himself and the opposite for his brother. Whatever he desires for himself, be it food, clothing, behavior, actions, words, etc. he chooses the same for his brother. If he hates to be abused and mistreated he would hate to do the same to his brother. Likewise, if he likes to wear branded clothes, he would buy the same for another person. He would not buy a high-quality product for himself and gift an inferior quality item to another person.
 
A test for your heart
It is clear that being able to love for your brother or sister what you love for yourself is a characteristic every true Muslim should train their heart upon. What does this mean? Firstly it is the golden rule; treat others how you want to be treated.  You don’t want to be backbitten, so don’t backbite others. Secondly it means you place yourself in someone else’s shoes and think: what would I have desired? And then desire the same for him. Imagine if every Muslim would live by this hadith then most of the problems between people would be solved and we would know true brotherhood!

Utmost Goodwill
This hadith indicates that a believer is pleased with what pleases his fellow believers and that he desires for them the good that he desires for himself. This is a result of being completely free from holding grudges, cheating, and envy. The envious person likes to be superior to others and hates that others are superior or equal to himself. This feeling contradicts the Islamic faith, which stipulates that one should wish others to enjoy the same blessings that he enjoys without losing any of them. In the Quran, Allah (Swt) has praised those who are not haughty towards others and hate corruption. Allah (Swt) says:

"That home of the Hereafter (i.e. Paradise), We shall assign to those who rebel not against the truth with pride and oppression in the land nor do mischief (by committing crimes)." [Al-Qasas 28:83]

Hadith No -12- Kitaab-ul-Eeman  (کتاب الاایمان) Bukhaari Shareef (Ahaadees Mubaarkah)

 حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ ، يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَيُّ الْإِسْلَامِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ : " تُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ ، وَتَقْرَأُ السَّلَامَ عَلَى مَنْ عَرَفْتَ وَمَنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ " .

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: A man asked the Prophet , "What sort of deeds or (what qualities of) Islam are good?" The Prophet replied, 'To feed (the poor) and greet those whom you know and those whom you do not Know (See Hadith No. 27).

´ہم سے حدیث بیان کی عمرو بن خالد نے، ان کو لیث نے، وہ روایت کرتے ہیں یزید سے، وہ ابوالخیر سے، وہ عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی اللہ عنہما سے کہ` ایک دن ایک آدمی نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا کہ کون سا اسلام بہتر ہے؟ فرمایا کہ تم کھانا کھلاؤ، اور جس کو پہچانو اس کو بھی اور جس کو نہ پہچانو اس کو بھی، الغرض سب کو سلام کرو۔

[The Noble Qur’an, 36:47]


Verse 47 from surah Ya-Sin

﴿وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ﴾

[ يس: 47]


English - Sahih International

And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error."


Allah also says:



SubhanAllah, feeding the poor has been given such a high status by Allah that he places it directly after the words ‘believe in Allah, the Most Great’. Elsewhere, He elevates this action by mentioning it after Salah:


’They will say, “We were not of those who prayed, nor did we used to feed the poor…“′ [The Noble Qur’an, 74:43-44]


It is thus the essence of the believer to feed the poor. It is especially important to feed our neighbours:



Moreover, Abu Dharr reported, ’The Prophet (saw) said, “O Abu Dharr, when you cook a stew, put more water in the broth and take care of your neighbours“’. [Muslim]


SubhanAllah, the Prophet (saw) gave us such a practical way of fulfilling our obligation as believers - simply add more water to the food you are already making! This adds barakah (blessings) to your meal and ensures you are nurturing a good relationship with your neighbours, regardless of their faith

Hadith No -11- Kitaab-ul-Eeman  (کتاب الاایمان) Bukhaari Shareef (Ahaadees Mubaarkah)

 حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْقُرَشِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بُرْدَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ الْإِسْلَامِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ " .

Narrated Abu Musa: Some people asked Allah's Apostle, "Whose Islam is the best? i.e. (Who is a very good Muslim)?" He replied, "One who avoids harming the Muslims with his tongue and hands."

´ہم کو سعید بن یحییٰ بن سعید اموی قریشی نے یہ حدیث سنائی، انہوں نے اس حدیث کو اپنے والد سے نقل کیا، انہوں نے ابوبردہ بن عبداللہ بن ابی بردہ سے، انہوں نے ابی بردہ سے، انہوں نے ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ سے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ` لوگوں نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ! کون سا اسلام افضل ہے؟ تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا وہ جس کے ماننے والے مسلمانوں کی زبان اور ہاتھ سے سارے مسلمان سلامتی میں رہیں۔

A Divine Perspective The Right of the Tongue

حق اللسان


وَأَمَّا حَقُّ اللّسَان فَإكْرَامُهُ عَنِ الْخَنَى وتَعْوِيدُهُ عَلَى الْخَيْرِ وَحَمْلُهُ عَلَى الأَدَب وَإجْمَامُهُ إلاّ لِمَوْضِعِ الْحَاجَةِ وَالْمَنْفَعَةِ لِلدِّينِ وَالدُّنْيَا وَإعْفَاؤُهُ عَنِ الْفُضُول اُلشَّنِعَةِ الْقَلِيلَةِ الْفَائِدَةِ الَّتِي لا يُؤْمَنُ ضَرَرُهَا مَعَ قِلَّةِ عَائِدَتِهَا. وَيُعَدُّ شَاهِدَ الْعَقْلِ وَالدَّلِيلَ عَلَيْه وَتَزَيُّنُ الْعَاقِلَ بعَقْلِهِ حُسْنُ سِيرَتِهِ فِي لِسَانِهِ. وَلا قُوَّةَ إلا باللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ.


And the right of the tongue is that you consider it too noble for obscenity, accustom it to good, direct it to politeness,1 do not use it except in situations of needs and benefits of the religion and this world, and refrain from any meddling in which there is little to be gained; and there is no security from its harm that accompanies its small benefits. It2 is the witness to and the evidence of the existence of the intellect. The demonstration of an intelligent person’s intellect is through his reputation of good speech.3 And there is no power but in God the High, the Great.


In the previous chapter, Imam Sajjad instructed us to use all our faculties, i.e. ourselves to obey God, and respect the rights of our body parts which are the means by which we act. In this chapter we will start the discussion of the rights of our body parts by first discussing the rights of the tongue.


Our Tongue is Our Greatest Blessing

Undoubtedly, the tongue and the ability to speak are the greatest blessings that God has bestowed on man in His Creation. This has been explicitly stated in the following verse:


خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ


“He has created man: He has taught him speech (and intelligence).” [The Holy Qur’an, al-Rahman 55:3-4]

Speech has been described as meaning “uncovering” an object in Arabic. Our tongue expresses our inner thoughts and feelings. Our speech uncovers our inner thoughts and expresses what we think. If it was not for our ability to speak, we would be quiet just like animals and there would be no more discussion, explaining and understanding among men.

Hadith No -10- Kitaab-ul-Eeman  (کتاب الاایمان) Bukhaari Shareef (Ahaadees Mubaarkah)

 حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ ، وَالْمُهَاجِرُ مَنْ هَجَرَ مَا نَهَى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ : وَقَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُد ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى : عَنْ دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .


Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: The Prophet said, "A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands. And a Muhajir (emigrant) is the one who gives up (abandons) all what Allah has forbidden."


´ہم سے آدم بن ابی ایاس نے یہ حدیث بیان کی، ان کو شعبہ نے وہ عبداللہ بن ابی السفر اور اسماعیل سے روایت کرتے ہیں، وہ دونوں شعبی سے نقل کرتے ہیں، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی اللہ عنہما سے، وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ` آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا مسلمان وہ ہے جس کی زبان اور ہاتھ سے مسلمان بچے رہیں اور مہاجر وہ ہے جو ان کاموں کو چھوڑ دے جن سے اللہ نے منع فرمایا۔ ابوعبداللہ (امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ) نے فرمایا اور ابومعاویہ نے کہ ہم کو حدیث بیان کی داؤد بن ابی ہند نے، انہوں نے روایت کی عامر شعبی سے، انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے سنا عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص سے، وہ حدیث بیان کرتے ہیں جناب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے (وہی مذکورہ حدیث) اور کہا کہ عبدالاعلیٰ نے روایت کیا داؤد سے، انہوں نے عامر سے، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص سے، انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے۔

Quran


وَ الَّذِیْنَ یُؤْذُوْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِ بِغَیْرِ مَا اكْتَسَبُوْا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلُوْا بُهْتَانًا وَّ اِثْمًا مُّبِیْنًا۠(۵۸)


And those who hurt Muslim men and women, without them doing anything (wrong), have burdened themselves with false accusation and open sin.


[Kanz-ul-Iman (Translation of Quran)] (Part 22, Surah Al-Ahzaab, Ayah 58)


The above Ayah contains an important principle in this regard. The core of Islamic teachings is that “One should not hurt others without any [Shar’i] reason”.


Discussion


Hurting Others by Tongue means


This is done through backbiting, slandering, lying, scolding using abusive language, taunting and mocking, irritating and annoying others. For e.g., the way we annoy and tease our siblings by hurling names at them, spreading rumors about others, etc.


Hurting Others by One’s Hands


One can hurt others by hitting, pushing, shoving off or poking them. We can also hurt others by our hands by writing nasty comments about them online, writing something that harms others’ feelings, dignity and honor. Other ways through which we can harm others by our hands is stealing or hiding someone else’s belongings. How often do we do this with our siblings and friends? Just to tease them we hide their belongings and then take pleasure in their frantic search.


[The Blessings of Hijrah]


It is of utmost importance, in both the definitions of a Muslim and an emigrant that their specific and general types be combined in our daily lives. We cannot consider one of the two types and neglect the other. What good are our prayers and fasting if we still lie and spread false rumors about others? Similarly, what good is our hijrah to a Muslim country where while going in the mosque we step over others to get to the first row which is already full? Or that we throw garbage wherever we want to?


May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala give us deep understanding and implementation of His Deen, aameen.

Hadith No -9- Kitaab-ul-Eeman  (کتاب الاایمان) Bukhaari Shareef (Ahaadees Mubaarkah)

 حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْه ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْإِيمَانُ بِضْعٌ وَسِتُّونَ شُعْبَةً ، وَالْحَيَاءُ شُعْبَةٌ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ " .

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya (This term "Haya" covers a large number of concepts which are to be taken together; amongst them are self respect, modesty, bashfulness, and scruple, etc.) is a part of faith."
´ہم سے بیان کیا عبداللہ بن محمد جعفی نے، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے بیان کیا ابوعامر عقدی نے، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے بیان کیا سلیمان بن بلال نے، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن دینار سے، انہوں نے روایت کیا ابوصالح سے، انہوں نے نقل کیا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے، انہوں نے نقل فرمایا جناب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے` آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ایمان کی ساٹھ سے کچھ اوپر شاخیں ہیں۔ اور حیاء (شرم) بھی ایمان کی ایک شاخ ہے۔

Quranic Verses About Haya

Haya (Arabic: حياء, romanized: Hayāʾ, roughly corresponding to: bashfulness, decency, modesty, shyness) is an Arabic word that means "natural or inherent, shyness and a sense of modesty".

In Islamic terminology, it is mainly used in the context of modesty. Haya encourages Muslims to avoid anything considered to be distasteful or abominable.

Haya plays an important role in Islam, as it is one of the most important parts of Iman. The antonym of Haya in Arabic is badha'a (بذاءة, immodesty) or fahisha (فاحشة, lewdness or obscenity).

Characteristics of modesty in the Quran:

Modesty in the Quran is an inborn quality. Modesty in the Quran is rooted in a sense of self-respect, honor and dignity. Haya is a contraction of the soul or feeling of shame. It leads to graceful and honorable behavior and avoiding wrong actions, in other words, it leads to abstaining from the haram and avoiding abandoning the obligatory acts (wajibat).One knows that a respected observer is watching.

أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَى ﴿14﴾

Does he not know that Allah sees [him]? 1

Modesty in the Quran is not based on fear or greed.Haya entails the power of your soul. It means that you are not weak or a coward, but a powerful person. This power comes from the fact that you consider a high position for yourself and your soul.

Sura 24, Noor (Light), verses 30 -31
“Say to the believing man that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that will make for greater purity for them; and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.”(Holy Qur’an 24:30)

“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; and that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands…” (Holy Qur’an 24:31)

Sura 59, (al-Ahzab) ,verses 58 -59

The other verses about women’s clothing are the verses 58-59 from Sura al-Ahzab:

Those who harass believing men and believing women undeservedly, bear (on themselves) a calumny and a grievous sin. O Prophet! Enjoin your wives, your daughters, and the wives of true believers that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad). That is most convenient, that they may be distinguished and not be harassed. And Allah is             Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Holy Qur’an 33:58-59)
