Hadith No -21- Kitaab-ul-Eeman  (کتاب الاایمان) Bukhaari Shareef (Ahaadees Mubaarkah)

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "Whoever possesses the following three qualities will taste the sweetness of faith: 1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle become dearer than anything else. 2. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah's sake. 3. Who hates to revert to disbelief (Atheism) after Allah has brought (saved) him out from it, as he hates to be thrown in fire."

Details:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

“Allah’s Apostle said, “By Him in Whose Hands my life is, none of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father and his children.”

On the Day of Judgment

The Prophet (SA) told us about seven kinds of people who will be under the protection of the Shade of Allah’s Throne on the Day of Judgment. And one of these is “two persons who love and meet each other and depart from each other for the sake of Allah” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim, qt in Riyad al-Salihin Book 1, Hadith 659)

Also:

“Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, said: ‘Those who love each other for the sake of My Majesty shall be upon podiums of light, and they will be admired by the Prophets and the martyrs.'” (Tirmidhi 2390)

Allah’s Messenger also said:

“Verily. Allah would say on the Day of Resurrection: Where are those who have mutual love for My Glory’s sake? Today I shall shelter them in My shadow when there is no other shadow but the shadow of Mine.” (Muslim 2566)

person who was a disbeliever and then embraced Islam and now hates to return to disbelief after having embraced Islam.

A person who was a Muslim but used to do many sins and then repented from them and became a good Muslim. And so hates to return doing those sins again.

This hadeeth therefore talks about a person who is righteous and hates actions of disbelief and whatsoever Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala dislikes. For him it is similar to be thrown in fire. Who would like that? It is the sign of true faith and sincere repentance that one hates reverting to their past life. Such a person abstains from falling into sins again and stays away from the wrong company. When a person hates disbelief and displeasing Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to such an extent, he tastes the sweetness of faith.

If we are not striving against our nafs and still staying in the wrong company, then we need to work on our emaan. The stronger one grows in emaan the more reflective he becomes. He puts the end in mind before starting anything. He does not blindly follow the crowd but also thinks about the rewards and punishments.

This hadith, found in Sahih al-Bukhari, emphasizes three key qualities that contribute to experiencing the true depth and joy of faith. It underscores the importance of having a deep love and reverence for Allah and the Prophet, maintaining sincere love for others solely for the sake of Allah, and having a strong aversion to disbelief, akin to the aversion to being cast into the fire.

These qualities together enhance and enrich the believer's experience, reflecting a genuine and profound connection to faith.
